The sleeping bear logo tied the company name, Ursa Major (Great Bear constellation) with space, as suggested by the product name "Space Station." The name Space Station itself is a play on words, as in a station from which you can manipulate acoustic space. The idea of a sleeping polar bear included the notion that here is a creature at once cuddly, soft, and lovable and at the same time, extremely fast and powerful-- strength in repose.
